Physical Description Kyan is a 27 year old terran male, agile, feminine though muscular and considers himself to be fairly attractive. He has a slight bronze tainted skincolor to go with his dark brown eyes and the short brown hair.

At first glance he would appear strong and stirdy, talkative and, possibly, quite the ladies man. The second glance however, would reveal his more soft and feminine traits.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Kyan is creative, artistic and loyal, but tends to be a loner - he has some social issues to deal with, and in the presence of strangers... he can be a bit too much, exaggerating his whole persona in an attempt to feel “free” for a moment or two.

He has some feminine traits, which is more than obvious once you become aware of them. At first Kyan is a shy guy, but that’s just till you get to know him better. Once he feels \"safe\", he opens up like a flower in spring and once you become his friend, he will share his life and experiences with you.

He is a \"gentle\" guy, hates violence and aggressive tendencies. He will do anything but use his size, strength and knowhow against those he meet along his walk in life, unless he feels it’s the only option.

Kyan practices the art of Vulcan meditation, a series of techniques he once learned from a close friend. He firmly believe it has helped him to become the man he is today. He is certain that without the meditation, he would loose his balance in life.
Strengths & Weaknesses Kyan is a strong and well trained man in his prime, highly capable and adaptive, quick to learn for the most part and keen on doing his best.

Though not a part of the requirements for an engineer, he is quite good with a phaser, though he will hesitate before using one. At heart he is a pacifist, though he will stand up for himself and those he considers to be his friends. If ordered to act, he will do so, but when on his own he will hesitate until the last possible moment.

Though he has graduated from the Academy, with a good grade, he is still in the process of learning many of the engineering techniques, procedures, tips and tricks. As a Starfleet Engineer, you will never cease to learn new things.

He is also a qualified field medic, and not a bad one at that, though beyond that his medical knowledge and capability are severely limited.

Science was also a field of interest he intended to major in, but he failed misserbaly. He knows his way around the various science instruments, but after a terrible accident in one of the academy labs, it was thought best he concetrated on Engineering matters.

He has a passion for flying and enjoys piloting various shuttles, but sadly his passion far outweighs his experience and capability. With him at the helm, you’re in for a bumpy ride… In an emergency situation, where all pilots are stuck dead, he can be usefull, though using the transporter would probably be alot safer.

Though not specifically a weakness, nor one of his strenghts; he possess an average knowledge of various Starfleet weapons, as teached by the Academy in the courses of Security & Tactical. It can be said that he at least know which buttons to press and which he really shouldn mess with.

His greatest weakness would have to be his ex-boyfriend. Gavin Lovelace was his name... He broke Kyan\'s heart by being unfaithful and seemingly jovial about it when he told Kyan about his mistake. To this day, Kyan still have intense feelings towards him... even if it was several years ago.
Ambitions Captain would be good, when his experience is sufficient… but ultimately… he just want to be the best he can be, in any field. But of course he has secret dreams of being the department chief. After that, a spot amid the command staff could be the path he takes, if he desires to pursue the dream of being Captain of his own ship.

Former dreams put on hold... Effective from stardate xxxxx.x, Kyan resigned from Starfleet service in favor of a more peaceful life with his lover Thomas Tran, back on earth... What the future holds... no one knows!
Hobbies & Interests Kyan does every so often like to indulge himself in reckless holodeck activities, such as orbital Skydiving or do something entirely different, like dancing or holo-dating. In regards to the first, some of his friends say he is a killer dancer, more than capable of sweeping anyone off of their feet on a dance floor, a thing he has tried once or twice with success... and that would be outside the holodeck.

A main hobby of his, is the Enterprise Probe Experiment initiated and tested by Geordi LaForge. The project was canceled, but with new technology and new knowledge, Kyan hopes to make this dream of the past into today’s reality.

All other things aside, he is a creature of pleasure and aches for that cirtain someone in his life. The key interest in his life, has always been to find someone to share the crooked path of life with.

Personal History Background:
About 27 years ago… an Amarican guy (with asian roots) and a Danish girl (through and through) met at a 20’th century disco revival party in New York…. 2 years later that resulted in the birth of Kyan T. Jai… their pride and joy… Not being able to get other kids due to an accident, he was and continued to be an only child. Growing up, Kyan always put school ahead of everything, even family time. This didn’t go over all that well with his parents, but they accepted it. He did however discover “life” in his teens… going for a night out and such, and he even discovered “love”. After school… he continued with his studies, though it didn’t help much, he was still misserable during tests. Turning a new leaf and enrolling in the Academy, he desperately wanted a new life… though he still tried to study a lot, he left room for a bit of social activity.

I really wish him the best, and I hope that he gets to do some interesting things and that he one day will get to be in command of his own ship”.

”Kyan is a quiet and calm being, he has a high aim in life, and though I do think he will one day be in command, I also think it might take some time. I have tied to prepare him for the possibility of his dream not being fulfilled, but it seems he his so sure it will happen, that I can’t even make him doubt that. This I do take positively, as he does know what he wants in life – And I wouldn’t want to be the person trying to stand in his way. Kyan is a sweet and gentle person, almost to gentle and I think he’s capable of filling any position he is qualified for, and give great results. In short, in my own opinion, he will make an excellent Starfleet Officer and a fine addition to any ships crew. He will make a one hell of a great Engineer, and some day he will make a great Captain, when time has aged him a bit more and made him wiser. That being said… I get the feel that Kyan is hiding something from me, though I’m unsure of what it would be. Perhaps he just needs to find the right woman… hmm… maybe that is the problem. This will prove an interresting case”.

”Entering Starfleet Academy, Kyan proves to be a very fit young man, providing many athletic talents and physical attributes. His strength is evident around his body; he has a highly noticeable physique. He has a unique advantage in physical terms; these are dexterity and good muscle coordination. All together Kyan provides a very able person. I really haven’t got much to say, except I wish him the best in the upcoming adventures. So break a leg…. not literally! “

Medical Report - Stardate: 58191.8
“During a severe laboratory accident at the Academy, Cadet Jai sustained both 2’nd and 3’rd degree burns over 60% of his body and sadly lost function of the left eye. I injected the patient with Corophizine to battle any infections and I also administrated some Kayolane to render him unconscious. After being injected with the latter, I placed him within a Bio Regenerative Field supplemented by a sterility unit, to heal the burned areas of his body.

His eye was a different thing, but luckily we have experts nearby here at the academy, and we were able to get him the proper care. The surgeons on campus implanted a synthetic eye (Eye-implant R-125.9), this would give him 100% of his sight back, with a few minor improvements which could aid him in his field, if he trained hard and uses it properly.
After 3 days, he was back on his feet and ready to continue his studies… Though he has sworn not to return to the science class again.

This is a lot to cope with for one individual; therefore I have recommended Kyan to seek the help of the Counsellor, to make the transition back into daily life, with a “handicap”, more easy”.
